JoAnn Fabrics, the popular craft and fabric retailer, will shutter all 800 locations, including stores in Bloomington and Peoria, following a bankruptcy filing. Initially, these locations were expected to remain open, but a liquidator has won the bid for the company and plans to close all stores by the end of May.
The closure plan will be reviewed by a bankruptcy judge on Wednesday. If approved, Going Out of Business Sales will begin or continue at all locations. Shoppers can expect clearance discounts as the chain winds down operations.
