Man held for six murders
Chicago police say they have a serial killer in custody in connection with six murders.
Police said officers arrested 21-year-old Antonio Reyes Tuesday while he was being held in the Cook County jail in connection with one of the murders.
Reyes is accused of fatally shooting five people in 2020 while he was a teenager. Police said he is also responsible for four attempted murders, including one victim who was 3 years old.
Grayson trial could be moved
The criminal trial in the Sonya Massey murder case could be moved outside of Sangamon County.
An attorney for former sheriff’s deputy Sean Grayson filed a motion to have the trial moved, arguing that Sangamon County is too close-knit and there has been too much media coverage, which could influence local jurors.
Body camera footage from July shows Grayson shooting Massey after she moved a pot of boiling water from her stove after she called police to report a prowler.
