Alleged shooter of Israeli Embassy employees from Chicago
A Chicago man is accused of shooting and killing two Israeli Embassy employees in Washington D.C. The young couple were ambushed as they left an event at a Jewish museum Wednesday night.
The suspect, identified as Elias Rodriguez, 31, was observed pacing outside the museum before the shooting, then walked into the museum after the shooting and was detained by event security.
Squatter bill ready for governor
The Illinois House of Representatives on Wednesday unanimously passed what is being called the Squatter bill. The measure would make it easier for police to remove squatters from someone’s home and avoid the months-long eviction process.
Previously, squatters were allowed to stay at the property during the court process to get them out of the premises. The bill can now go to the governor for his signature.
Cities make best places to live list
U.S. News and World Report is out with its 250 Best Places to Live in the U.S. with cities located in neighboring states faring much better than Illinois communities.
The list is based on surveys and data across several metrics, including quality of life, job market strength, and home affordability.
Arlington Heights was the top ranking Illinois city at No. 56, followed by Buffalo Grove at No. 63 and Naperville at No. 76. The top spot went to Johns Creek, Georgia.
