More than three years after a devastating fire destroyed its building, Victory Church is preparing to open its doors again with a two-day grand reopening and dedication celebration.
The public is invited to attend services on Saturday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 22 at 10 a.m. at the church’s rebuilt facility at 18180 U.S. Highway 150 in Bloomington. The weekend celebration, themed “Reclaimed & Rededicated,” will mark the official return to the church’s longtime home and the beginning of a new chapter for the congregation.
“After everything we’ve walked through since the fire, this weekend is more than a building reopening—it’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and our church’s resilience,” said Pastor Jarrod Herald.
The Saturday evening service will feature Dr. John King, founding pastor of Riverside Community Church in Peoria, along with a special worship celebration and dedication prayer. Sunday’s worship service will include a message from Pastor Kerry Kirkwood, an international speaker and author. Children’s ministry will be available during the Sunday morning service.
The original Victory Church building was destroyed in a January 10, 2022 fire, forcing the congregation to meet in temporary locations for nearly two years. In November 2024, church members were finally able to return to their newly rebuilt worship center.
Despite the challenges, the church remained active in the community, continuing weekly services, launching youth programs and outreach efforts, and even opening Foundation Christian Academy in 2024.
“This reopening is not just about brick and mortar,” Herald said. “It’s about rededicating ourselves to our mission—seeing people saved, healed, and set free.”
