(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square Associate Editor Greg Bishop talks with The Center Square reporter Jim Talamonti about the sentencing of Michael Madigan, the former Illinois House Speaker convicted of corruption charges.
Bishop also shares moments from Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signing the largest state spending plan in Illinois history that’s reliant on tax increases, and focuses in on various aspects of the measure that has drawn criticism.
The issue of increased immigration enforcement in Chicago and other Democrat-run cities took center stage Monday with President Donald Trump calling Pritzker “probably the worst” governor in the country.
Finally, Bishop reviews recent appeals court filings from the U.S. Department of Justice and a third of Illinois county state’s attorneys arguing Illinois’ gun and magazine ban violates the Second Amendment. Pritzker was asked Monday to respond.
