Heartland Community College and the Town of Normal have formed a partnership to ensure continued operations of Miracle League Field, a baseball facility designed for individuals with disabilities.
Under the agreement, Heartland will manage field maintenance while the Town oversees scheduling and league operations. The field, located behind the Corn Crib stadium, opened in 2015 through the efforts of the late “Uncle Bill” Wright.
The Miracle League of Central Illinois provides a fully accessible baseball experience for those with physical and developmental disabilities. In June, Heartland accepted a charitable gift of the facility from the Miracle League.
Leaders from Heartland and the Town emphasized their commitment to inclusive recreation, with plans to expand programming. Former Miracle League board members will remain involved in an advisory role.
