NORMAL, IL – The Normal Police Department is teaming up with state and local agencies in a July traffic enforcement campaign targeting speeding drivers. As part of the “Speeding Catches Up With You” initiative, increased patrols will be on the lookout for speeders and other violations from July 8 to 31.
Officials warn that speeding endangers everyone on the road by limiting a driver’s ability to react safely. The enforcement effort, supported by federal highway safety funds through IDOT, aims to reduce speed-related crashes and save lives.
