EPA employees demand jobs back
More than 30 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency employees from Chicago are demanding they be reinstated to active duty.
The 31 employees say they were put on administrative leave after signing a letter of dissent against what they said were the Trump administration’s efforts to politicize the agency.
The group was joined by Democratic elected officials, the ACLU and the Sierra Club in Chicago Monday morning.
Chicago native to participate in Warrior Games
Chicago native Rickaiya Diggs, a U.S. Navy Sonar Technician 2nd Class, will be competing against 250 other wounded and injured service members during a nine-day competition including archery, cycling, indoor rowing, powerlifting and wheelchair basketball.
The Warrior Games, an annual adaptive-sports competition hosted by the U.S. Army, takes place in Colorado July 18-26.
Starved Rock most crowded
An analysis of TripAdvisory reviews about overcrowded attractions in Illinois shows Starved Rock State Park at the top of the list. CanadaSportsBetting says just under 1 in 6 reviews described Starved Rock as overcrowded.
Shedd Aquarium came in at No. 2 with around 14.5% reviews mentioning large crowds. Chicago’s “Cloud Gate,” also known as “The Bean,” came in third for overcrowding reviews.
