Drivers can expect traffic delays next week as milling work begins on several major streets in Bloomington.
Starting Monday, Sept. 22, crews will begin removing asphalt along:
-
Oakland Avenue between Eldorado Road and Hershey Road
-
Washington Street from Veteran’s Parkway to Hershey Road
-
Prospect Road from Oakland Avenue to Empire Street
The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, Sept. 26, though weather or other factors could shift the timeline.
Traffic will remain open in all areas, but drivers should anticipate slower movement and possible congestion as contractors stage their operations to keep resident and business access available.
The City of Bloomington offers an interactive map of road closures at bloomingtonstreets.com. Residents may also sign up for road closure notifications by visiting bloomingtonil.gov/subscribe.
