America’s Gold Star Families, in partnership with the Sgt. Anthony Maddox Memorial, will host its 2025 Fallen Heroes Tree of Honor ceremonies this November to honor U.S. service members who died while on active duty.
The community is invited to attend the tree lighting ceremonies on Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Peoria Riverfront Museum and Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington. A third tree will be available for public viewing beginning Nov. 1 at the Decatur Civic Center.
Each tree features ornaments bearing the names and details of fallen service members, with more than 1,200 ornaments across the three sites. Families and visitors are invited to help place ornaments after each ceremony.
