Normal Police Department responded to the 700 block of Hale Street at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an individual who had been struck by gunfire inside a residence.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim and assisted the Normal Fire Department in providing life-saving care. The victim was initially transported to a local hospital and was later transferred to a medical facility outside the area for further treatment. The victim is currently receiving ongoing medical care.
The suspect remains at large at this time. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community
This incident remains an active investigation by the Normal Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
