The National Weather Service in Lincoln says a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for much of central and west-central Illinois from midnight Friday through 6 a.m. Sunday, with significant snowfall and dangerous travel conditions expected.



Heavy snow of 6 to 12 inches is expected in much of west-central IL Friday night through Saturday night. The higher amounts will be closer to the I-74 corridor. East-central IL has more uncertainty in amounts, with a heavier, wetter snow, and possible change to rain.
