The City of Bloomington has appointed Norah Fletchall as interim director of the Miller Park Zoo, stepping in this week to lead the facility while the search continues for a permanent director.
City Parks & Recreation leaders said the temporary appointment will ensure stable operations and continued support for staff and guests. Fletchall brings four decades of zoo leadership experience, including roles at the John Ball Zoo, Indianapolis Zoo, and Buffalo Zoo, along with service on key Association of Zoos and Aquariums committees.
Fletchall said she looks forward to guiding the zoo through the transition and maintaining its mission of connecting visitors of all ages with wildlife. The AZA-accredited Miller Park Zoo remains open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
