(The Center Square) – Primary election polls close at 7 p.m. across the state.
The Illinois State Board of Elections encourages voters to report instances of misinformation about the voting process, including election-related ads about incorrect polling place hours, incorrect requirements to vote or information about casting a vote online or via text, which is not allowed.
SNAP FRAUD
A Chicago man has been sentenced to four years in prison for fraudulently obtaining $1.5 million in food subsidies.
Prosecutors announced the sentence for David Quinones, who pleaded guilty to paying cash or other items to SNAP recipients in exchange for access to their benefits. He used the cards to buy goods to be resold.
In addition to prison time, he’s been ordered to pay back $1.5 million.
STATEHOUSE RALLY
A group that opposes abortion announces plans for a Thursday march and rally in Springfield outside the Illinois State Capitol.
Illinois Right to Life announced the event saying it comes as the state “continues to position itself as a national abortion destination.”
Speakers include Bishop Thomas Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield and other opponents of abortion policies.
