The City of Bloomington has announced a one-hour delay for its annual “Eggs on the Square” event, moving the start time from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on April 4 due to expected early morning rain.
City officials say the adjustment is intended to give families a better experience, allowing time for improved weather conditions before the popular downtown Easter egg hunt begins. The free event is a longtime community tradition, featuring thousands of eggs filled with candy and small toys hidden throughout the Downtown Square.
To keep the event safe and fair, the egg hunt will be divided into four age groups: ages 2–4, 5–7, 8–9, and 10–12. In addition to the hunt, families can enjoy booths and activities hosted by local organizations, along with a downtown scavenger hunt offering prizes such as zoo passes, aquatics center admissions, and golf simulator time.
“Our priority is to create the best possible experience for our families,” said Cordaryl Patrick, Director of Community Impact and Enhancement. “This small adjustment helps keep the focus on fun and community.”
Participants are encouraged to arrive early, locate their designated areas, and bring baskets for collecting eggs.
