Two 17-year-old males have been arrested in connection with a February 14 shooting in the 700 block of South Main Street that left a 16-year-old girl injured, according to the Normal Police Department.
Investigators, working with Illinois State Police and the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office, identified the suspects following an extensive investigation. One suspect was taken into custody April 6 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, while the second turned himself in. Both are being held pending court proceedings, with one transferred to adult court and facing multiple firearm-related charges.
Police say the victim suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. Authorities continue to pursue additional leads and encourage anyone with information to contact Normal Police or submit anonymous tips through Tip411.
