The Bloomington City Council has approved nearly $16 million in infrastructure improvements, launching a series of projects across the city focused on streets, sidewalks, and public systems.
The plan includes a $5.84 million street resurfacing program targeting priority roads, along with a $1.79 million sidewalk, curb, and gutter replacement effort addressing about 135 locations. Additional sidewalk work will take place along key corridors such as Oakland Avenue, Prospect Road, East Washington Street, Four Seasons Road, and St. Joseph Drive.
Other investments include $5.6 million for sewer and utility maintenance, $2.07 million for multi-year street and alley work, and about $593,000 for traffic signal upkeep. Officials say residents should expect to see construction activity in multiple areas as projects move forward, alongside ongoing state work on Route 9.
