Normal Community High School (NCHS) was evacuated and students were redirected to a reunification site Tuesday morning following a specific phone threat received at approximately 8:00 a.m.
After a thorough sweep by the Secretary of State Bomb Squad, officials confirmed there was no threat to the building or grounds.

Response: Most students had not yet arrived; those on buses were diverted to Eastview Church, while students and staff already on-site were relocated there for reunification with their families.

Belongings & Vehicles: Students and staff may retrieve their cars from the NCHS parking lot immediately. Those needing to get personal items from inside the school can do so today, Tuesday, May 5, until 4:30 p.m., or wait until Wednesday.

School Schedule: Classes will resume as normal tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6.

Activities: All after-school activities and sports can resume Wednesday. Notably, dance tryouts that were scheduled for today have been postponed to begin tomorrow.
