McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael is encouraging residents to sign up for PropertyCheck, a free service designed to help protect homeowners from property and mortgage fraud.
The system automatically monitors recorded documents and sends email or text alerts when a document matching a registered name or parcel number is filed. The service operates 24 hours a day and is available at no cost to county residents.
PropertyCheck is provided through a partnership between the McLean County Clerk’s Office and Cott Systems. Residents can enroll through the Recording Division section of the McLean County website or by visiting the PropertyCheck registration portal online.
