One person is injured in a shooting incident in the 700 block of North Golfcrest and a suspect is in custody.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Officers with the Normal Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of North Golfcrest Road in Normal. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately
provided emergency medical care until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
Officers secured the scene and began collecting evidence related to the incident. The Normal Police Department Patrol and Investigations Divisions continue to actively investigate. Based on the information gathered thus far, investigators believe this was an isolated incident in which the victim
and suspect are known to one another. There is no information currently to indicate an ongoing threat to the public.
The Normal Police Department currently has a suspect in custody. Additional information, including any criminal charges, will be released as they are determined.
