The Normal Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the shooting that occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in the 700 block of North Golfcrest Road.
Following an investigation, Maurice R. Delaney, 44, of Normal, Illinois, was taken into custody and initially charged with:
Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon – Class X Felony
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – Class 3 Felony
No Valid FOID Card – Class A Misdemeanor
These initial charges are subject to review by the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The Normal Police Department was assisted by the Bloomington Police Department during this investigation.
The victim remains in serious but stable condition at a local hospital.
