Bloomington and Normal will host a joint community forum Aug. 26 on the potential development of data centers and regulations governing them.
The forum will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts and will be moderated by media personality Susan Saunders. A panel of experts will discuss environmental, economic, land-use and infrastructure issues and answer questions submitted by residents.
Both communities currently have moratoriums on hyperscale data centers while they consider new regulations. Residents can submit questions in advance, with all submitted questions to be made public after the forum.
