The City of Bloomington issued a statement to the press on Tuesday stating that they are aware of a lawsuit filed against the City and Assistant Police Chief Paul Williams.
It Reads:
“The City takes the allegations outlined in the lawsuit seriously and had already initiated a formal investigation into the matter. Assistant Police Chief Williams is currently on administrative leave pending the investigation.
Because the matter involves pending litigation and the formal investigation is ongoing, the City will not commentfurther on the specific allegations at this time.
The Bloomington Police Department is a highly professional and well-respected organization, made up of individuals who serve with excellence and accountability.
The City remains fully committed to upholding these standards and will continue to support the Department while ensuring any concerns involving personnel are reviewed carefully and addressed appropriately.”
