Normal’s self-service electronics recycling drop-off will be open Saturday, Sept. 5, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Public Works facility, 1301 Warriner St. The program is available to McLean County residents on the first Saturday morning of each month.
Public Works offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. Regular trash and recycling collection will continue, but brush, landscape waste and bulky-waste collection will be suspended for the holiday.
Regular Public Works hours resume Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Accepted electronics include computers, monitors, TVs, cell phones, cameras and other equipment. Freon-containing items are not accepted. The program is limited to McLean County residents and does not accept business drop-offs.
