The Continuing Education department at Heartland Community College will host Menopause Mastery: Thriving Through Transition on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Community Commons Building room 1406.
This expert-led event will provide practical information on menopause, treatment options, nutrition, mental health, exercise, and more.
Sessions throughout the day will address understanding menopause and its stages, common symptoms, hormone replacement therapy and nonhormonal treatment options, emotional well-being, skin changes, nutrition and weight management, exercise, strength and balance, and pelvic floor health.
Featured presenters include Kim Bankston, DNP, Bloomington Primary Care; Jackie Deffenbaugh, APN, WHNP, MSCP, Advanced Women’s Healthcare; Carrie K. Company, LCPC, Good Company Counseling and Coaching; Lucy Wisdom, MD, Associates in Dermatology; Javelin Lawrence, DCN, CNS-C, MS, Java Green Herbal Teas; Poonam McAllister, PT, Central Illinois Institute of Balance; and Amy Haney of The Healing Spirit.
The workshop will also include opportunities for participants to ask questions, share experiences and connect with others during an open conversation. Lunch, giveaways, and networking opportunities are included.
