Several streets in Uptown Normal will be closed this week for Harrison Gordon’s hometown concert and the annual Sugar Creek Arts Festival.
For Thursday’s Harrison Gordon performance, North Street from Broadway to Uptown Circle will have no parking beginning at 1 p.m. and close at 2 p.m. Constitution Boulevard will have no parking at 4 p.m. and close at 5 p.m.
Additional closures begin Friday. At 11 a.m., no parking will be allowed on East Beaufort Street from Linden Street to Uptown Circle, North Street from Fell Avenue to Uptown Circle, Uptown Circle and its access points, and Broadway from North Street to the rear alley south of North Street. Those areas will close to traffic at noon.
The closures will remain in place through the Sugar Creek Arts Festival and are expected to reopen by about 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, as conditions allow.
Accessible parking will be available in the Trail West lot. The Trail East lot will be reserved for festival vendors and artists. Public parking is also available at the Uptown Station, Beaufort Street and College Avenue parking decks.
The free Sugar Creek Arts Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and features more than 100 artists, live music, food trucks and other activities throughout Uptown Normal.
Harrison Gordon’s free hometown performance is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, celebrating the release of the band’s debut album, BLISS. The four-piece indie rock band features Bloomington native Harrison Gordon.
