
The Bloomington City Council will decide tonight whether to raise the city’s motor fuel tax from 4 cents to 8 cents. If passed, City Manager Tim Gleason says it would enable to the city raise $6.5 million a year that would be dedicated to street work. Bloomington put a 4-cent per gallon local fuel tax into effect in August 2014. Many residents still wonder where the money from that hike went.
