This is what the state police have been warning about for months. Commanders say State Trooper Brooke Jones-Story died yesterday when a semi-truck crashed into her squad car along the side of the road near Freeport, in Stephenson County. Jones-Story is the second trooper to die in a roadside wreck this year, she is the 15th to be hit. State Police Director Brendan Kelly says it’s a dark day.
