One man is dead and two others are in critical condition at area hospitals after gun shots were fired on Bloomingotn’s east side last night.
Bloomington Police tell us 26-year-old Nathanial Caldwell was found in the 1200 block of Orchard Drive with a gunshot wound after they were called around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of shots fired.
Caldwell is listed in critical condition at an area hospital.
Bloomington police first called it “an evolving situation,” but are now saying that shooting is related to a crash on Wildwood Drive two blocks away. That is where a car driven by 25-year-old Juan Nash rammed into two other parked cars and a house.
Nash was found with gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead.
We are now learning from Bloomington Police that 18-year-old Scotty Allen checked into an area hospital later last night with gunshot wounds. Allen is in critical but stable condition.
The area where this all happened is no stranger to violent crime. Tuesday night’s incident took in the same block where 20-year-old Taneshiea Brown and 18-year-old Stephen Alexander were shot and killed in June 2018.
