The Help 4 Heroes organization is responsible for initiating a flag flying program in Decatur. The founder of the organization, Ayn Owens, says she contacted city leaders about putting up flags. The group worked with the Macon County Veterans Assistance Office to get the flags. City officials made the purchase of the flags and brackets that now line Main Street.
