A Pekin High School teacher is leaving his post amid an investigation into racist behavior. Pekin’s superintendent says Kevin Pummill resigned and will not return to school. The move came as district leaders began to investigate allegations Pummill engaged in racist activities centering around messages posted to a private web-based message board. School officials say they aren’t aware of any discriminatory conduct Pummill made against students.
