
Illinois U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth marked the 100th anniversary of women getting the right to vote in the state by saying there’s more work to do. Duckworth yesterday said there are still people in this country who need access to the ballot. She was one of several elected women in the state who rallied to remember the day in 1919 that Illinois ratified the 19th Amendment that guaranteed women the right to vote.
