Another delay in the case against the John Y. Butler, the president of Central Illinois Arena Management.
The Pantagraph reports an Illinois State Police Agent is needed in court to testify in a motion to suppress evidence in the case.
Lawyers told a McLean County Judge on Tuesday the agent recently had surgery and is not expected to be available until Aug. 5. Scheduling conflicts pushed those arguments to Aug. 28.
Butler faces more than 40 criminal charges including include theft of public funds, wire fraud, and tax-related offenses related to the 10 years his management firm supervised operations of the former arena.
