A Bloomington woman and her child are reportedly hospitalized after being attacked by an exotic cat.
Police responded to a home on the 100 block of Locust Sunday morning and found a Caracal on the scene. Residents say the large cat that is similar to a lynx was on the sidewalk when it attacked the child.
The mother was able to distract the animal.
Animal control worked together to put the animal down. Officials say the large cat had escaped from a nearby home.
