23-year old Benjamin T. Carney of Bloomington has been charged with 12 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault against a victim younger than 13. Carney was jailed in lieu of $40,035 and ordered to avoid contact with two children, two adults, anyone younger than 18 and a specific address. The charges are Class X felonies, which upon conviction carry a prison term of from six to 30 years.
