Illinois State Police troopers are cracking down on distracted driving. A new law took effect this month reclassifying texting and driving as a moving violation. The effort is being called Trooper in a Truck because the officers will drive or ride in semis to spot distracted drivers. The new fines also nearly tripled the ticket for seat belt violations.
