Starting August 5, 2019 McLean County Health Department will expand the hours of all clinic services.
In addition to WIC and Child Immunization clinics, the Child Dental clinic, the STI-HIV clinic, Adult Immunization, and TB clinic will offer evening hours every Monday. Each Monday clinics will be open from 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Tuesday through Friday hours remain 8:00am-4:30pm. “ At McLean County Health Department our Mission is to protect and promote the health of our community.
“By offering evening hours for all clinic services every Monday, we hope to provide more opportunities for residents to access our services in a way that fits into their already busy schedules. ” says Tammy Brooks, Interim Administrator of McLean County Health Department. The extended Monday hours comes just over a year after the Health Department opened clinic services over the lunch hour in July 2018
An additional change to clinic hours is the discontinuation of Saturday clinics, which took place the first Saturday of every month from 8:00am to noon for WIC and Child Immunization services. The last Saturday clinic was held July 6 th , 2019. “Discontinuing Saturday clinic was a difficult decision to make, but when we assessed the number of families utilizing extended hours we found that late Monday hours are utilized at a much higher rate than Saturday hours”, said Tammy Brooks.
