Elderly, disabled, homeless people and their spouses will have the ability to use supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) benefits to buy meals at fast food restaurants in Illinois. Governor Pritzker sign the legislation into law last week along with nearly 30 other bills. The Department of Human Services will work with restaurants to adopt necessary rules to implement the meal program before January 1, 2020.
