
The Illinois State University Board of Trustees approved several plans Friday, including a new master’s degree program for computer science.
The new program will focus on advanced concepts in computer science and leading-edge applications. According to the board, the master’s program will provide opportunities for students interested in the technical side of computing.
The board also approved a lease for space in the Trail East building set for uptown Normal with which it plans to put a startup incubator once the building is ready with the goal of promoting technology innovation, entrepreneurship and local economic development.
The university will sign a lease agreement with Bush Construction Company set at $168,000 per year.
