McLean County Highway Department employee Scott Bundy, 41, of Bloomington, was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center on Wednesday where he was pronounced dead at 11:05 a.m.
County officials are saying it was an electrocution that occurred in rural Hudson at about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
County Administrator Camille Rodriguez and County Coroner Kathy Yoder issued a joint news release regarding the incident.
Yoder said the preliminary investigation indicates that Bundy was in a boom truck doing work on a road sign at 1200 East and 2250 North Road when he came in contact with a high-voltage power line.
According to the release, a second employee was taken to the hospital with injuries that aren’t considered life threatening.
