Helen Brandon, a sixth-grade math and science teacher at Bloomington Jr High at District 87, is one of 10 finalists for the Illinois State Board of Education’s Teach of the Year. The winner will be announced at the Those Who Excel banquet Oct. 19 at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Normal.
