Pontiac emergency crews are being credited with freeing a person who was trapped in a 12-foot deep hole after a cave-in.
Crews were able to free the victim yesterday evening, about three hours after the incident began. The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. No word on what caused the cave-in but workers have barricaded the hole so no one falls in.
The Pontiac Fire Department tells us they were called at about 3:25 p.m. to Countryside Lane, which is just south of Illinois 116 and about half a mile west of Old U.S. 66.
