
Authorities are still searching for four teens who escaped a Knox County detention center. The Knox County Sheriff’s Department says five 15-year-olds drove off in a stolen vehicle after escaping the Mary Davis Detention Home in Galesburg on Wednesday.
The incident happened as a riot was taking place in the facility. One of the teens was captured later that night after police found the stolen car in Galesburg.
New details are being released in the escape of five teens from a detention center in Galesburg. Deputies say they responded Wednesday night to a call about a disturbance.
In the process, one female and one male juvenile stole a set of facility keys after striking several staff members.
Four males and one female were seen exiting from the broiler room after finding a set of car keys. They found the staff member’s car and drove away.
One is back in custody and four others are still on the loose.
