Illinois High School Association member schools voted to rescinded the proposal of district football Tuesday, as well as 10 other amendment proposals.
In 2018, member schools voted in favor of implementing a football scheduling system based on districts, rather than conferences.
Proposal 23 would have officially began in the 2021 season, but for now, conference play will stay in place.
