Oak Park Democrat Don Harmon is the new Illinois Senate president. Harmon was elected yesterday to lead the General Assembly’s upper chamber.
He follows retiring Senate President John Cullerton.
The final choice came down to Harmon and Maywood Democrat Kimberly Lightford.
