Insulin will be a lot less expensive for most Illinois families in the future.
Governor JB Pritzker has signed legislation capping the out-of-pocket cost for the lifesaving drug to no more than $100 for a 30-day supply. Many families were paying eight to ten times that much… or more. State Senator Andy Manar says often, those families wound up taking reduced doses, or not taking the drug at all, causing even more serious health problems or sometimes death.
Manar says the new law will ensure that doesn’t happen in the future.
