Republicans are keeping up their attacks on Governor JB Pritzker’s proposed budget… specifically his call to hold more than a billion dollars “in reserve” pending the outcome of a November vote on a progressive income tax proposal.
That includes tens of millions of dollars for K-through-12 education. GOP Representative Avery Bourne calls it a “bullying” tactic for Pritzker to threaten to withhold that money unless voters approve the amendment to change the state’s income tax structure.
