On Friday February 21, 2020 a McLean County jury returned guilty verdicts against Michael A. Vegeler of Bolingbrook on 2 counts of Sexual Assault committed upon a female victim who could not consent.
Both counts are Class 1 Felonies.
The convictions were the result of an investigation into an incident that occurred in Normal on February 8 th and 9 th of 2018 where the victim reported being drugged and sexually assaulted by Vegeler.
The investigation conducted by Detective Brad Underwood of the Normal Police Department determined that Vegeler planned and perpetrated these unlawful acts. Assistant States Attorney Ashley Scarborough led the prosecution against Vegeler that resulted in his conviction.
