University of Illinois students will get a chance to vote on a possible change in the school’s mascot.
A vote will be held today on the proposed Belted Kingfisher mascot, a bird native to Illinois with orange and blue coloring.
If students approve, the mascot will go through a process by school officials for possible final approval.
The outcome will be announced March 11th.
