In response to ISU’s March 11th announcement that all university operated housing will be closed until further notice, Young America Realty will offer temporary housing rent free to displaced dormitory residents.
Temporary housing will be offered on a week-by-week basis until university-owned and university-operated housing reopens, or until the end of the original 2020 spring semester. Units offered are furnished, have high speed internet access included, and are within walking distance of Uptown Normal. Space is limited, and will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
“We expect there are some students who will have difficulty returning to a permanent home, and who still need to apply themselves to their university coursework,” said Young America Realty President Andy Netzer. “Yesterday’s news was probably not ideal for everyone, and we’re hopeful these efforts will help mitigate the stresses that some ISU students are experiencing”
